Musallah

 

The UTS Muslim Society provides permanent prayer facilities for the Muslims on campus. Located on level 3 of building 1 (see below map), is a room for brothers and a separate room for sisters where the five daily prayers may be offered.

Friday Prayer

 

In addition to providing facilities for the five daily prayers, the UTS Muslim Society also makes arrangements for the delivery of Friday sermons. As a result of the large number of attendees, a decision has been made to relocate Friday sermons from our current location of the Musuallah to the Gallery Function Centre. This will allow us to better cater for the large gatherings, which are now reaching as many as 300 people masha’Allah. The Gallery Function Centre is located on level 6 of building 1. In the event that the gallery centre is booked, our previous location will be used. However members will be notified of this change.

Wudu Facilities

 

All wudu facilities are located in the toilets next to the Musallah on level 3.

 

 

Dawah Program

As part of our commitment to providing on-site support to Muslims students; a program of Islamic educational lessons will be initiated at the beginning of semester two inshallah. Classes will be run on a weekly basis, following the below structure:

 

• 45 min lecture every odd week
• 45 video screening every even week

 

Topics which we are looking to cover include:

 

• General Prayer, Ablution, Personal Conduct and Islamic Fiqh on a Muslim lifestyle.
• Qualities of a Muslim; Learn about the Important Personalities of Islam.
• Youth in Islam
• Islam; its Heritage and Contributions to the World
• Exegisis of the Quran; Reasons for Quranic Revelations
• Life, Death and Hereafter
